So last night was the Sugarcult concert. To avoid the repitious format that you all know too well, I summarize:
(1) Go to Tyler O's house, get Christmas present from him and give him Christmas present
(2) Go to In-N-Out for dinner. Convieniently enough, his Christmas presents are two $5 In-N-Out gift certificates.
(3) Head to downtown disney, with many off-the-line drags (my 91 accord vs his dad's brand new lifted chevy truck, and I still won) and more laughs.
(4) Bitching and complaining about parking fees: 6 bucks for every hour after three hours. We all end up just saying "screw it" because we think the concert will end by 9:00 (it is 6:00 when we get there).
(5) Line up at the House of Blues in Anaheim, more bitching as the stupid attendents dont let us in until 7:30, even though the thing is supposed to start at 7:00.
(6) Finally get in, sit on floor for a half an hour. Music starts at 8:00
(7) First band: ok; Second band: pretty good; Third band: bad;
(8) Sugarcult comes on stage and I literally jump into the moshing crowd, quickly being swept up to the front of the stage.. yay.
(9) An hour later, after many moments of nearly-throwing-up, extreme heat, shoving and pushing people around, screaming at the top of my lungs, flashing my gang symbol every other second, and jumping up and down till I am sick, I walk out of the hall. It's 11:50. We run to our cars so that we can get out of the damn parking lot while paying only $18.00 (this means that parking cost more than the tickets..)
(10) On the way home I'm forced to stop at a 7-11 because I'm so parched. I sweated sooooooooo much. The dress shirt that I wore (I'm not even going to mention the t-shirt I was wearing) was itself soaked and it kept sticking in the weirdest places.
(OK, that was far from brief. Sorry)
So yea. That may not sound like alot of fun to most people, but I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, though I went to bed last night deaf, I didnt expect to wake up that way. I think I've learned a lesson for rock concerts: stay away from the speakers. It's a very good lesson, and you'd all be best to heed it. I sure hope my hearing comes back tommorow.
Nevertheless, I didnt really need to hear today. I woke up around 11 and headed out to UCR to see what the campus looked like. Despite the outrageous parking fees which prevented me from really getting to see all of the campus, it is alot nicer over there than I thought it was. Up till now, I've always though Riverside was "shit-town USA" or something, but it's actually a pretty nice place. Sure, there are some slums, but I really like the kooky hills that are spotted all around out there and downtown Riverside is really really nice.
Two days till Christmas. Tommorow I'll go out and get pictures of lights in my neighborhood for you guys.
